Cardigan finished & Anthony Bourdain

Cardigan finished!

So, I finished the cardigan on Saturday! It was a pretty quick knit for me...it took about a month. I was really happy with the ribbon on the button band. I've seen that a few times and think it really adds a finishing touch to the garment. This was a fun easy lace cardigan and I really love Tahki Cotton Classic yarn. Overall, a joy to knit!

After I finished the cardigan on Saturday morning we headed to Knoxville to see Anthony Bourdain speak. We got in town in time to eat a great seafood dinner at Chesapeak's Restaurant downtown. Then we walked over to the Tennessee Theatre. The theatre was beautiful!

Tony was hilarious and the talk was very casual. I love how he's never pretentious on his show and that came across at the talk as well. Every American needs to hear what he has to say about travel and respecting and truly experiencing the cultures during your journeys. It's a big world out there and I appreciate people who understand that and are inspired to help others come to that realization.

Traveling is one of those things that will always change you and will always keep you learning and wondering and growing. I really value the ability I have to travel and see the world. I'd say if you have a choice between a flat-screen and a trip to Italy...travel!!!

It's in an issue of Rowan Magazine, it's called the "Jenny Cardigan." I made it 3/4 sleeved instead of long. It was a fun quick knit!
