How amazingly beautiful is he!! I LOVE him. I must have him. I don't have the $ right now, but someday he will come to live with me, I hope.

Blanket Square Pattern to benefit Japan

I had to share this lovely pattern I just bought. It's from Kay Gardiner of Mason-Dixon Knitting fame. It's SUCH a beautiful design, don't you think?! Gorgeous. And all proceeds from pattern sales go to benefit Japan this year. After that, all proceeds will benefit Mercy Corps' relief work. I think you must go out and buy this pattern. Thanks Kay!

Bohemian Satchel Knitting Pattern

Yay! It's finished! I stitched up the last bit yesterday afternoon. I'm very happy with how the bag design came out. When you have an idea in your head and it actually comes to fruition, it's very rewarding.

The bag is created in four pieces: a front color work piece, a back solid oatmeal color piece, a bottom piece that is knit in the round and a handle, also knit in the round. The handle creates the sides of the bag as well. These two final pieces knit in the round give the bag nice stability and keeps it from stretching out too much. It's finished off with a toggle button and crocheted loop closure.

I have always love the bohemian style and the bits of ethnic pieces that you see accompanying it. I was inspired by the Wayuu mochila bags from Peru that I totally adore. They have very geometric designs and shapes decorating them.

I hope you'll try out the pattern for yourself! It's available for purchase on Etsy and Ravelry. It's perfect for taking to an outdoor music festival or for carrying your knitting in anytime! ♥

Teaser

Good morning! It's another gloomy day here in Nashville and I'm having a time trying to wake up. So, I'm still sitting here staring at my computer, willing myself to get up and work out. Hmmm. In the meantime I will give you a bit of a teaser as to my next knitting pattern coming out. I'm feverishly working to finish it soon! I tried to give you a bit of an idea in the photo without giving it away. I'm really excited for how it's turning out! Stay tuned to see what the finished project looks like. Happy Fat Tuesday!!
